Friday, February 28th.

This week has flown by. We worked some long days, but we made some good progress. We were able to have supper at the house twice this week. I am hoping to have the kitchen stocked by the end of the weekend so we can get back to eating healthy suppers and not hitting Waffle House or Papa's after 9.

I love the new faucet Bobby installed. I really appreciated it yesterday after I washed supper dishes and started washing all the "treasures" we decided to keep from the kitchen. Hopefully, I will have one of my Valentine's day presents installed this weekend....a new drain and stopper for the sink. The old one grosses me out every time I have to touch it.

Here are pics of the glassware I washed last night. I love this "Pyrex" dish with the designs. I have never seen one like it before. Bobby likes the Coke bowl and glass (on the right.) We looked them up on EBay after I mentioned Coke stuff is highly collectible. Yep, apparently they are collectible.

I can't wait to have my own things out of storage and easily assessable. Happy sigh.

The picture below is of the fuse box Bobby replaced with the door in place. He does such a good job. I am really proud of his workmanship.

This is the cabinet Bobby prepped for the new stove. Lowe's called today to confirm that it will be delivered tomorrow. Yay! Bobby did a beautiful job and he didn't have to remove the cabinet doors. He just lowered the supports and will trim the front piece before he reattaches it. I doubt anyone will ever be able to tell that it was modified to accommodate a bigger oven.

This is a print I found in one of the bedrooms. It is an old print but apparently this print is still popular and can be purchased from many stores. I found an older print similar to ours on EBay and hope it is as valuable as the seller seems to think. :-)

Here is another part of the security system that was installed this week. The installer was impressed with the outlets Bobby had ready for them. I asked the salesman and the installer if the NSA has access to our cams and I got "deer in the headlight" looks. Ah well....The good news is that they have the highest rate of success in catching robbery suspects because they send images to the police from the live feed so they can quickly be identified.

Yesterday Miracle Hill came to pick up the items that we had packed up from the house to donate. This room was full with boxes before they came. I was surprised at how picky they are about what they take. I called Goodwill to get the rest and was told that Goodwill is currently not picking up items and have no information about when they will begin again. Weird.

This is the Florida room right off of the kitchen. I sealed it so hopefully water won't get in it anymore but it still has a funky odor that makes me get in and out of there as quick as possible. I hope Bobby can get that resolved at some point as it will be a nice place to hang out and play cards and I have vision of a hot tub for this room one day. He did make some progress in the Florida room last night. One of the doors had been used for a break-in and had been screwed shut to secure it. Bobby had purchased a new door and frame and had the security installer prep the door while he was there since he hadn't had a chance to install it. Last night he installed the new door and added the locks. It just needs the trim replaced. I think I heard, "right door open" about 100 times last night while he worked on it. I was pleased that the installer that programmed it knows left from right. :-)

I LOVE the new steamer I bought to remove the wallpaper. It makes the job so much faster and easier. I have my paint swatches up and am looking forward to working on the wallpaper some more. I find that task to be very relaxing. I really wish I could be at the house today working on it but I need to get work done in the office. While I was making progress removing the wallpaper in my office Bobby removed the paper from the foyer and upstairs. That paper comes off so easy. I just pulls right off...no dawn or anything else is necessary. It will be interesting to see how easily the paper comes off in the other rooms.
